The process starts by melting the precious metal and casting a small bar.

To enable us to roll it out into a sheet that can be cut to the shapes required. 

Then our goldsmith uses a scroll saw to cut out by hand the components needed to make the item.

One by one each component is impeckably soldered together piece by piece. We use different solders that melt at different temperatures, the basket that is soldered to the shank is hard soldered, the claw work is soldered with either easy or medium solder.  

When the head is soldered into position and the claws are soldered in place and the holes are drilled for the stones, then we set the diamonds & gemstones into position.

Our goldsmith will then give the item a final polish and rhodium plating if required.

The end result is a beautiful handmade 3.00ct Emerald cut diamond solitaire with diamond set shoulders, made to the customer's requirements.
